Alastair Houston’s name is synonymous with the Fife Regatta . Alastair and his sister Fiona are the inspiration behind the gathering of the William Fife yachts back on home waters. Both keen sailors, who are particularly attracted to classic yachts, they felt compelled to coordinate a showcase event for these wonderful yachts. Having sailed the Clyde and lived in the village of Fairlie where William Fife III’s yard once stood they were well aware of his magnificent creations, designed for west coast seas.

Alastair is an accomplished water colour artist and captures the lines and gracefulness of the Fife yachts with excellence. This will be the fourth Fife Regatta and Alastair has produced a limited edition print for all events. His 2013 piece does not disappoint as he illustrates the Fife yachts making safe passage through the Narrows in the Kyles of Bute.
