From June the 10th to the 17th 2022 the Clyde will play host to returning William Fife designed yachts in the home waters where they were originally built in Scotland.
The 2022 regatta will start off the village of Fairlie on the Clyde coast, where the boat yard of William Fife & Sons launched hundreds of racing and cruising thoroughbreds. Many boats continue to be sailed around the world as epitomes of classic yacht design.
From Fairlie the boats will sail around the Isle of Cumbrae before moving to Rothesay across the Firth of Clyde on the Isle of Bute. The fleet will then sail through the Kyles of Bute and into the deep waters of Loch Fyne to stopover at Portavadie Marina.
The fleet will then return to the Clyde waters off Largs and race on the Kings course to the North of the Isle of Cumbrae to conclude the celebration in the final race of the regatta.
The 2022 event is expected to be largest gathering of Fife Yachts since the event started in 1998. The enduring elegance of the classic yachts provide a moving insight into Scotland’s proud marine heritage and global legacy.
